Dr. Giuseppe Monorchio has a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and taught Italian language and literature at the University of Alberta, Carleton University and the University of Ottawa for two decades. An avid movie and theatre buff, he directed and acted in Italian comedies' productions with his students and founded a popular foreign film series held at the University of Ottawa, Cinema International, which was supported by many embassies in the nation's capital throughout the 1990s. Now retired and a grandfather, Nonno Pino has spent countless hours regaling his grandchildren with tales inspired by Italian writers like Boccacio.
